DPF – Part 2

As you can see in my prior post I have removed the mainboard and lcd from the case. I used the top half of the bottom case to temporarily hold the keyboard until I am done troubleshooting. After that I will replace the keyboard with a piece of foil, pic to follow, so that I can remove it and the bios won’t freak out. You can’t tell in these pics but the screen completely covers the open area of the frame. I couldn’t be happier with the final look from the front.

From the software side of it I am going to be using either puppy linux or DSL linux. DSL was my first choice however since it is based on the older 2.4 kernel there is a known flaw that prevents it from detecting the PCMCIA card chipset. This really sucks seeing as I was going to use a PC card as my primary boot drive and wireless access. I think that I have it mostly figured out and will continue the updates as time allows.
